About the Author
Jeffrey Brantley, MD, is a consulting associate in the department of psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Duke University, and the founder and director of the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program at Duke Integrative Medicine. He is author of Calming Your Anxious Mind and coauthor of Daily Meditations for Calming Your Anxious Mind, Five Good Minutes, Five Good Minutes in the Evening, Five Good Minutes at Work, Five Good Minutes with the One You Love, and Five Good Minutes in Your Body.
Wendy Millstine, NC, is a freelance writer and certified holistic nutrition consultant who specializes in diet and stress reduction. I loved it

I acquirerd an anxious mind with panic attacks after hitting my head in a car accident - not from the accident itself, but from the symptoms of a traumatic brain injury- as a result I've turned to meditation and this book was great help! - I think that for someone with anxiety, this book is marvelous! There is nothing negative or religious in the book- completely universal for all people.
The book offers coping for different situations and states of mind- no matter what level of anxiety you have you will find some level of healing

Calming the mind

I love this book and the more I read about mindfulness, the more interesting it becomes. My daughter had very painful spinal fusion surgery which takes 6-12 mos for recovery. She had it a month ago and still cannot sit. I have sent her a meditation or thought for the day every day since her surgery and she loves them. I felt this was as helpful as anything I could do and she seems to really appreciate this.
