This is a great book for anyone who wants to start exercising. I was not physically active for at least a year and reading this book made me restart again. What I appreciated most about the book is that it is very well written, made me laugh at parts and did not sound preachy. It does not appear to be written by two exercise buffs but by people who know how hard it can be to get yourself out the door and who can still convince you that it's worth it.

This is a book about starting and maintaining (not quitting) a reasonable exercise program for both physical health and mental well-being. It is practical and is based upon research. It includes anecdotes and also quotes from successful athletes. This book helped me start and maintain my own strenuous workout routine.

Had low expectations but the advice works

I only got through two chapters, but the book is right. You feel the effects immediately. I feel almost like I'm outrunning my stress and retraining my brain to wait in the gate restlessly for work stress, not vice versa. Can't wait to finish the book.
